The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, "Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!" But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! A COMMENDABLE SERVANT

Theme: A commendable servant
We don’t anyone to find fault with our work, and so we try hard not to cause problems. But in everything and in every way we show that we truly are God’s servants. We have always been patient, though with lots of trouble, suffering, and hard times. 2COR 6:1:10
According to Advance Learners Dictionary, a servant is a person who works in another person’s house. When we refer to a person as “ commendable servant”, we are talking of one working for somebody that eventually will appraise him as a servant deserving praise and approval. Wherever anyone is working is an extension of the Vineyard of God. The Bible tells us in Psalm 24:1 that “the earth and its fullness (everything in it) belong to God. The world and its people belong to him”(CEV.). The implication of this for God’s people today is that cities, councils and agencies whether government offices, or companies churches etc., where we work belong to God we shall therefore give account of God who will appraise very man’s work and give commendation or condemnation. It then means we should be disciplined as well as careful so as to receive commendation.
Paul and his companions desired that no one should find fault in their work. In other words, they wanted to be commendable servants. This they wanted to achieve by “ trying hard not to cause any problem”, instead they were showing in every way that they were Gos’s servants. That is a worthy example. The world would be a better place to dwell in if every office Holder would do his best( try hard)not to cause problem; if there is an unseen eye that is taking record of his performances and would give his commendation and by.
God is the appraiser of everyone. He sees in secret and in the open. He knows the intent of your heart as you do serve to Him. He is equally the one to reward every work (Rev. 22: 12)Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done................. NIV. How will God score you at the end of your service to Him and humanity?” Will say you, well done, faithful servant”?
To be commendable servants, let us take care of what is entrusted to our care including the public funds. Let us diligently run the race that is set before us: Looking unto Jesus, as the author and finisher of our faith. May our services be acceptable unto our Lord and Saviour who will in turn commend and reward us in Jesus Name. Amen.
